Mr. Barrett began his professional career in 2016 practicing insurance defense work. In 2017, he went to work for one of the largest insurance companies in the country defending personal injury cases. In his time working in insurance defense, Mr. Barrett tried hundreds of cases defending the insurance company. His experience working inside the insurance industry has given him invaluable insight into the inner workings of the insurance industry. In 2021, he left the insurance industry and joined the Smith Law Center so that he could work to serve those who have been injured.
Mr. Barrett works on the firm’s catastrophic injury cases, other personal injury cases, and criminal matters. He brings his unique inside knowledge from the insurance industry to better assist clients with their cases.
Outside of the firm, Mr. Barrett enjoys spending time with his wife, Amanda, and the rest of his family. He enjoys spending time in the great outdoors and taking in all of Virginia’s natural resources.
